Add all the ingredients to a saucepan.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, occassionally stiring to make sure the mixture does not stick. If the mixture is bubbling too rapidly lower the heat.
Continue to cook for 8-10 minutes. The bluebbries will burst, start to release liquid and the mixture will start to thicken.
Place in a bowl and store covered in the refrigeator until ready to use. The compote will thicken as it cools.
